We had much to
        celebrate.....

.....and we celebrated
                 in style!

The first 100 years of Tech, TUNS and Dal Engineering  were celebrated  with several events from Thursday, October 4th to Saturday the 6th, 2007.
Engineering education and research in Nova Scotia has had  a vibrant history. Our faculty members, you, our alumni, and our supporters in industry and government, have created a sterling legacy - and it is today's faculty and students who will carry it on into the future. See The Faces of History, by Melanie Holmes.
This institution began with a mandate "to educate engineers and to foster the development of an industrial base in Nova Scotia." Our basic goals  remain the same, with research and development growing steadily over the years.
We have evolved from the Nova Scotia Technical College (NSTC) 1907-1978, to the Technical University of Nova Scotia (TUNS) 1978 - 1998, followed by a brief time as DalTech, and are now the Faculty of Engineering at Dalhousie.
Our faculty remains second to none. Our students are sought after by industry and our alumni are an ever-growing source of pride as well as support.
We all had much to celebrate indeed, with more to come as we move onward to the next one hundred years....
